From the moment I looked at Lyukum Cooking Lab website, I was impressed by the creativity, respect, and talent with which Kate approached her relationship to food, its preparation, and presentation.

During the entire process, Kate exhibited the highest level of professionalism and responsiveness. She asked great questions that helped clarify what I was wanting. She listened carefully and shared suggestions about what might best fit and enhance my vision of the evening, a dinner party for eight. She conveyed confidence and knowledge without being off-putting which allowed me to trust her fully.

It was clear from our initial conversation that Kate possessed a deep and broad knowledge of foods as well as a commitment to using high-quality ingredients and presenting the foods in a way that was both beautiful yet authentic and drew out the best of flavors, colors, textures. I think of simple elegance and creating very satisfying memories of the meal. Her dependability, punctuality, and organization were outstanding.

Our meal consisted of three delicious appetizers, an amazing entree of fresh pasta, which she demonstrated making on site, with Gulf Coast Shrimp, and the yummiest roasted tomatoes I have ever tasted. She, also, made a very appealing and tasty vegetarian version for one of the guests. It is impossible to accurately describe the lightness and lusciousness of the pasta. And if that was not enough, she presented the most scrumptious pavlova I have ever encountered. It was artfully topped with chocolate cream, chocolate pearls, and a few toasted pecans and served with a few strawberries on the side. So, so wonderful!

I cannot wait to work with Kate again! She will not disappoint.

Kate was phenomenal! We needed someone to cook us 18 bone-in ribeyes for a bachelor party, she was up to the task and handled it beautifully. All of the food she prepared for us was delicious and everyone was very happy with the outcome. She was much more reasonably priced than the other quotes I received, and she knocked it outta the park! The meal couldn’t have been done any better. Thanks again, Kate!

Kate was awesome and helped me create a memorable night for my boyfriend’s birthday. She was punctual, professional, and so knowledgeable. After learning a bit about the dishes we were preparing, we got some hands-on experience in the kitchen. To top it all off, the food was SO delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience, and will definitely recommend Kate & Lyukum Cooking Lab to anyone looking for a unique date night.

Kate was such a wonderful addition to our party! I absolutely recommend her. Kate prepared a 3-course meal for 9 ladies at my sister’s bachelorette weekend in Marble Falls, TX. I selected her over some of the other chefs because her menu was more creative and interesting. She did a Mexican theme meal which included homemade carnitas, Mexican green rice, a pepper and herb queso with fresh tortillas and these amazing queso fresco balls stuffed with matcha and rolled in various spices. Kate was on time and came perfectly prepared! She came out and talked us through the menu and shared some of her inspirations and culinary influences for this menu. Everyone loved Kate and her cooking.

Kat is an amazing chef and her food was fresh, unique, and delicious. She prepared a meal for a baby shower and it was so special that this is a memory that my friends will never forget. She was kind, and nice and very knowledgeable of food.

Our experience with Kate was phenomenal! She cooked a delicious meal for 15 people. 5 teen girls and 10 adults. A vegetarian, a gluten-free, and my husband that doesn’t like creamy white sauces!

She was able to make a delicious meal that we could all enjoy and didn’t have to skimp on anything!

Our first coursed was her watermelon gazpacho – a BIG success! EVERYONE couldn’t stop talking about it! Second-course Edamame hummus with chips and burrata and tomato salad. So good!

Our main dish was a Pork Wellington that was moist and so delicious! We had some mushrooms and caramelized cauliflower that was simple but so full of flavor we all just raced at the exquisite taste and how it paired so well with the Wellington. For dessert L, Kate prepared a vegetarian/gluten-free chocolate mouse and a to die for pastel de calabaza!

My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we have asked Kate to come back in June to cook for us again before our daughter’s graduation for a small family gathering.

We can’t wait for that dinner! We highly recommend Kate. She was so careful to listen to our special dietary needs and suggested our menu to reflect her care.
